WHO WE ARE

- WHO WE ARE -

Dr. Abraham Boakye of GHANSU, Founder of the Ghana National Supporters Union and popularly known as One-man Supporter, has transformed individual commitment into a structured national movement. Through GHANSU, he united supporters across the country and elevated Ghana’s image at international tournaments. His pioneering work continues to influence generations of fans and remains a proud example of patriotism, leadership, service, inspiration, and national pride. He stands as an enduring symbol of what true support for Ghana represents.

He attended the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games in South Korea as a one-man supporter, proudly carrying Ghana’s spirit alone on the global stage. In 1989, he traveled to Scotland for Ghana’s maiden appearance at the FIFA U-16 World Cup. His commitment continued in 1991, when he supported the national team at the FIFA U-17 World Youth Championship in Italy, where Ghana won its first-ever world title. He once again demonstrated his devotion in 1993 in Japan, attending the FIFA U-17 World Youth Tournament to cheer on the young Ghanaian team.

By the mid-1990s, his extraordinary dedication reached its peak at the 1995 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Ecuador. There, he became an unforgettable presence. In stadiums thousands of miles away, he raised the Ghanaian flag high, chanted tirelessly, and kept the team’s spirit alive. His one-man storm of patriotism electrified crowds. Ghana’s Starlets went on to win the championship, and his presence was widely recognized as a symbol of Ghanaian courage, resilience, and national pride.
